{"id":3985,"date":"2026-05-05T19:18:44","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T19:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mawea.org\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=3985"},"modified":"2026-05-05T19:18:44","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T19:18:44","slug":"town-of-norwood-norwood-ma-26-sewer-craftsman-cdl","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/mawea.org\/index.php\/job\/town-of-norwood-norwood-ma-26-sewer-craftsman-cdl\/","title":{"rendered":"Sewer Craftsman\/CDL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Title:<\/strong> Sewer Craftsman\/CDL<\/p>\n<p><strong>Department:<\/strong> Department of Public Works, 1 Lyman Place Norwood MA 02062<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong> FLSA Non-Exempt, Union, 40 hours per week 7:00am \u2013 3:30pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary:<\/strong> FY26 Grade PW6\u00a0 $29.0306 &#8211; $30.7759 per hour for steps 1-3 (salary range exceeds hiring range)<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Summary:<\/strong> The purpose of this position is to perform skilled equipment operation and manual labor in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Town\u2019s sewer system; all other related work as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions: *<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participates in the construction and maintenance to the sewer system; excavates trenches and backfills excavations; repairs sewer lines.<\/li>\n<li>Regularly works in confined spaces.\u00a0 Responds to emergencies; frequently required to work extended hours in response to emergencies and problem situations.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Work is performed in all weather conditions with exposure to hazards associated with chemicals, trenches, construction sites, extreme weather conditions and equipment operation; work environment can be very noisy.\u00a0 Frequent exposure to wastewater, septage, bio-solids.<\/li>\n<li>Responds to emergencies; determines appropriate corrective action; makes repairs.\u00a0 Responds to questions and complaints and makes related repairs.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Performs general customer service activities.<\/li>\n<li>Replaces broken or worn parts in systems involved. Digs, braces and backfills areas as required.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains tools, equipment, and facilities related to sewer system operation.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains availability for emergency or stress situations.<br \/>Coordinates with other departments or private contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Would be required to work snow removal.<\/li>\n<li>Assists other DPW divisions as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Performs similar or related work as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>*This posting is not meant to be inclusive of all job duties or qualification requirements.
